“Interior Population Trumpeter Swan Migration Ecology and Conservation”

Uncommon Loon Brewing (Grand Hall), Chisago City

Wednesday, March 20th, 7pm

Dave Anderson, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, will present “Interior Population Trumpeter Swan Migration Ecology and Conservation”. The come-back of the Trumpeter Swan is one of the true success stories of wildlife conservation. The big birds were gone from Minnesota by the 1880s. In the 1930s, only 69 swans remained in the lower 48. Captive breeding programs and dedicated funding (the “Chickadee Checkoff”) re-established Trumpeter Swans in the past few decades. Come learn how it happened.
